Russell Jones aka ODB has done a lot of crazy things in the past year- ranging from storming the stage at last years Grammy Awards to issuing death threats to security guards at LA's House Of Blues. His most notorious incident occurred a couple of weeks ago when he was accussed of shooting at two New York City police officers after he was pulled over for a routine traffic stop.

Initially many people including myself seemed to think that perhaps ODB was capabale of really doing something so crazy. However, a lot of people close to his camp kept saying there were a lot of discrepancies. Among them was the fact that ODB did have a gun and the police could not trace one back to him. Nor could they find any bullet shells. The second thing was that ODB immediately maintained his innocence and agreed to submit to taking a paraffin test to determine whether or not he actually shot a firearm. ODB passed that test.

There were also persistent rumors about possible police misconduct. The first factor focused on the inability of the NYPD to come up with a consistent story as to why ODB and his cousin were pulled over. The police one hand said he had a broken tail light then they said he made an illegal left turn, then they said he was speeding. There were also stories about the police approaching the car in plainclothes so in fact they appeared as car jackers and not as officers of the law Whatever the case, folks from around the way weren't buying this story about ODB and folks were even more skeptical about the police who have seemingly been going out of their way to target young African American males driving nice cars in the NYC area.

Well, to make a long story short, ODB has been cleared of all charges. A Grand Jury found him innocent and dropped the attempted murder charges that had been levied against him. Now ODB in a big turn of events is announcing that he intends to 'Sue the shit out of the NYPD". If he was falsely accussed, let's wish him luck in his attempts.
